The best time to visit the valley is from December to February as the fresh soft snow is sure to dazzle tourists of all ages. Adventure lovers can indulge in adrenaline inducing activities such as skiing, paragliding, zorbing, trekking and river rafting.
While the world has moved on, Old Manali with its swaying eucalyptus trees, meandering roads and imposing mountains in the distance, reminds you of simpler times. Be sure to sample the tiny local eateries located in the heart of the town offering delicious foods that won't burn a hole in your pocket. Buy a souvenir from one of the many local street vendors selling handicrafts and artefacts.
If you have seen the popular Hindi movie, Jab We Met, you will recognize Naggar Castle immediately. Home to paintings by Russian artist Nicholas Roerich, this ancient palace dates back to the 15th Century. The castle is open daily and visitors can enjoy the beautiful architecture for a nominal entrance fee.
Your trip to Manali is incomplete without a visit to Rohtang Pass. While its literal translation is 'pile of corpses', rest assured you will not encounter any corpses on your way there! Closed during the winter, Rohtang Pass comes alive during the months of May to October. The snow clad mountains provide the perfect opportunity to go skiing and snow scooter riding.
Don't forget to bring out your cameras during your stay as Manali provides for some of the most picturesque views of the Himalayan peaks.

Adventure lovers have name this there favourite sport. The place provides a perfect blend of scenic beauty with great sporting action like parachuting,paragliding,skating etc.
Best times to visit the resort town 14 km northwest of Manali, are the winters a rot provides good sporting conditions.

- Naggar Castle:
The 15th century crowd-puller,Nagger castle, houses mesmerizing paintings of Russian artist, Nicholas Reorich. Its affair with the art world doesn’t end here, it also saw the shooting of one of the songs of the movie Jab We Met.
With entrance fee as low as Rs. 15, it’s a must visit, don’t you think so!
- Hadimba Devi Temple:
Hadimba Devi Temple, colloquially known as Dhoongri Temple, need no introduction. Most of us are familiar with this temple, as it feature in the movie Yehjawanihaideewani.
Being a centre of religious, historical and archaeological interest, it attracts tourists as well as devotees from all parts of the country.
- Van Vihar national park:
One of the attractions in Manali is this national park, which prides itself to be the favourite hangout for both locals and tourist.
It’s an ideal place to enjoy picnics and moments of solace with loved ones.
It has indulging activities for kids like swings and boat rides.
A must see in my list, for sure.
